We have created numerous opportunities for Crestwood campers to customize their day, gain independence and decision making skills and most importantly spend more time exploring their interests. Our choice programs fall into either the category of PULL-OUT CLUBS or ELECTIVES.
These clubs are optional. Those children who are interested will leave their group (after being escorted by a counselor) to participate in the club period. The option to participate in clubs generally begins as campers are entering first grade. As children get older at Crestwood, more and more club choices become available.
Some of the most popular club choices include:
Almost all of our activities (such as Tennis, Golf, Dance, etc.) are available as club options and can be arranged if you or your child expresses an interest.
Our elective program is designed to give children entering 2nd-6th grade choices in their schedule. During elective times, all campers make an elective choice. Every child (3rd-6th grade) will have one Major Elective and one Friday Elective choice. Children will enjoy their Major Elective choice twice a week for two weeks and then will be able to make a new choice. Every child will also select a Friday Elective choice that will last for four weeks at which time they will get a new Friday choice. All Electives will be double periods. Our 2nd grade campers have one double period elective each week. Each grade will be presented with a varied assortment of fun activities to choose from so that each child can select the electives that appeal to them the most. It is also our hope that with your cooperation, campers will gain maturity and experience in the decision making process to ensure the best summer experience possible!
