bustos_logo.pngKARATE - Crestwood is teaming up with Busto's Martial Arts to offer our campers (K and older) an amazing introduction to Martial Arts. Sensai Jason, one of Busto's popular instructors, will teach the Foundations of Martial Arts, including strong basics like blocking, kicking, and simple self-defense methods that are easy to learn. Trained in martial arts for over 16 years, Sensei Jason earned his 1st degree black belt when he was 16 years old, and recently earned his 2nd degree black belt in American Kenpo. He began teaching martial arts in 2012 at Busto’s and tries to pass on the principles of discipline, focus, and respect to his students in a fun and engaging way.

yogi.jpgYOGA - Crestwood started a partnership with Yogi Beans in 2014 to bring Yoga to our campers. Yogi Beans is the leading children’s yoga program in Manhattan. Yogi Beans translates the practice of yoga into a language  children can understand and enjoy. The intention behind the program is simple: make children feel good. Yogi Beans are all about building a child's self-confidence through yoga and constantly reminding campers that 'yoga is a practice, not a perfect.' When campers come to yoga, they should feel that they are loved and accepted just the way they are.

milos.jpgCHESS - Our program is run by renowned chess coach, Milos Scekic, Founder of Long Island Chess Kids, FIDE Master, International Master, and FIDE Trainer. Milos designs custom programs for individual schools, integrates technology and explores the history of chess and its great masters. He develops a rich chess program curriculum designed to foster higher-level thinking skills such as pattern recognition, spatial visualization, analysis, strategic thinking and problem solving.

nicole.jpgJR. LEGO LEAGUE/ROBOTICS - Nicole Alexander, Great Neck Public Schools Jr. Lego League Coach, joined our staff in 2014 to direct our Lego League & Robotics Program. Lego League captures young children's curiosity and directs it toward discovering the wonders of science and technology. This program features a real-world scientific concept to be explored through research, teamwork, construction, and imagination.

christine-frolich.jpgNATURE - Christine Frolich, or “Miss Fro” as the children lovingly call her, has worked at Crestwood since 1997. She worked in Crestwood’s Middle School, when it was still in session, as a science, math, English, and home room teacher. She also taught computers for 6 years. Currently she works as our camp nature specialist while also teaching science at our private school year round. Christine received a Bachelors in Special Education and Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology & Science and a Masters in Reading and Literacy. She loves the look of joy on each child’s face when they learn a new concept in Science or hold a new animal at Nature.
