What makes the program special at this age so is the elective program. All third and fourth graders begin enjoying weekly elective choices. We give the campers a wide variety of choices which include our most popular sports, adventure, and creative and performing arts activities. Each camper gets two choices per week. Their first choice will be enjoyed two afternoons per week for a double period (and lasts for 2 weeks) and their second choice will be enjoyed for a double period on Fridays (and lasts for 4 weeks). Combined with our extensive club offerings, campers can make many of their own decisions about activities based on their interests.
Campers enjoy the additional double periods of sports in their schedule, tennis on the main courts and tournaments set up between groups. Our Fine Arts, Drama, Crestwood Idol, Chess and Swim Club are some of our most popular clubs at this age. Third and Fourth graders enjoy their first Crestwood Late-Night. Fourth graders enjoy regular field trips each month. This summer they will enjoy a trip to Adventureland and also a day fishing on a charter boat. In addition, intercamp games (sports games with other camps) are a special treat for fourth graders.
Of course, 8 and 9 year olds are supervised by a staff that meets the same high standard and qualifications as those for our younger campers and on a daily basis enjoy a wide variety of all that Crestwood offers in sports, swimming (instruction & free), adventure and the arts.
