Yesterday was Silly Sock Day at Crestwood. We saw everything from stripes and swirls to polka-dots and rainbows. All of the campers, counselors, and administrators alike loved showing off their silly socks!
It's a Doggie Dog World!!!
This summer, Crestwood will again offer our FUTURES DAY program for parents considering a future at Crestwood for their 2-4 year old (entering Kindergarten in September 2012 or younger). FUTURES DAY is an opportunity for children to experience some of the best of what Crestwood has to offer, with the comfort of a parent by their side. Activities will include our NEW carousel, ferris wheel & jumping pillow, sports, playgrounds, paddleboats, nature, music, arts & crafts, lunch, snack and more (activity choices will vary by day). We encourage you to invite friends who have always wanted to share in the Crestwood experience.
In May, we completed work on three new and exciting ziplines. All of our 2nd grade campers and older will love the new additions. Younger campers can still enjoy our mini-zipline. After mastering our mini-zip, first graders will have an opportunity to try our new mid-level zipline (on the right in the photo).
With all the new activities, facilities and programs coming this summer, 2012 will surely go down as one of the best in Crestwood history.
NEW FOR 2012 - Carousel, Ferris Wheel, Jumping Pillow, Trapeze, Puppies, New Theater, New Ziplines, New Sports Coaches, New Elective Program for 2nd grade, New Sports Leagues for 1st and 2nd Grade Boys, New Clubs, Crestwood Games (our version of Color War), New Overnights and Trips, the return of Cook-out, New Special Events, and believe it or not there are still more surprises to come.
Crestwood's Drama Department is excited to announce that "The Little Mermaid" will be this summer's big production. Director Arielle Cooperman and Asst. Director Emily Edwards will be returning to direct this fun production at our brand new amphitheater. Children entering 2nd - 6th grade who have an interest in drama are welcome to join in this special production. There is a part for everyone, either in the cast or as part of the scenery/stage crew. Since the play will be presented during the last week of summer, all cast members must be enrolled through the end of the summer. Auditions for lead roles will take place during the first week of our summer program. All children who want to be in the show will get a part.
Our Drama Directors will be available to meet you and your child plus answer any questions about the program at Family Fun & Clothing Day on Saturday, June 23rd.
We are inviting all families to our Spring Fair & Open House on Saturday, April 28th from 11am - 3pm. (The rain date will be April 29th.) Come be the first to take a ride on our new carousel and ferris wheel after the "ribbon cutting" ceremony. Meet the directors and key staff, take a tour of the facilities, learn more about camp and school, and enjoy fun activities including mini zipline, bungee trampoline, jumping pillow, music, and crafts.
The 2012 summer will be Crestwood's 57th and in addition to the carousel and ferris wheel, Crestwood has added a trapeze program, jumping pillow, multiple sports coaches, new amphitheater, puppy program, and so much more! Spaces in the Crestwood summer program for ages 2-15 are still available but filling fast.
Since 1956 Crestwood has also been home to one of the leading private schools on Long Island. Crestwood is currently accepting applications for their 2012-2013 parent/child, toddler, nursery, pre-k, and kindergarten classes.
Please call Elyse at 631-692-6361 x232 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP for the Spring Fair/Open House event by April 16th.
