Accelerated Program for Toddlers through Pre-Kindergarten

Since 1956, Crestwood Country Day School has been providing the premiere educational program on Long Island. Our new Accelerated Program is our latest and most exciting innovation.

Nursery children speaking Spanish, Toddlers playing tennis and golf, and Pre-Schoolers recreating the works of classic artists- these are some of the exciting programs happening in our classrooms. Not just academics and arts & crafts, but hands on learning, discovery and exploration in a nurturing and supportive environment. Programs and skills that when learned at a young age, increase a child’s future chance for academic success.

SCIENCE/NATURE

Through nature walks, animal care, experimentation and exploration, children learn to hypothesize, infer, predict, and estimate.

FINE ARTS

Our children gain an appreciation for the arts by exploring the world of Matisse, Van Gogh and Picasso through stories, paintings and self-exploration.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

The children explore musical and rhythmic instruments such as clarinets, keyboards, saxophones, and boomwackers.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Children are introduced to a wide variety of sports activities with step-by-step instruction. Our program also includes tennis, golf and yoga instruction, which you will find only at Crestwood.

COMPUTERS

Computers are no longer the future, they are the present, and are a vital part of every child’s education.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Through pictures, songs, puppets and games, children are introduced to Spanish and other languages. New for the 2009-2010 school year, Crestwood has begun a Mandarin program in which children learn to speak Mandarin Chinese by exploring its culture through stories, songs, and games.
